Vaccinations
RSV (respiratory syncytial virus) is a major cause of respiratory illness, particularly dangerous for infants and the elderly. Whilst symptoms are often mild and covid-like, the virus can lead to bronchiolitis and pneumonia, requiring hospitalisation and intensive care in severe cases.
NHS England has identified patient cohorts to be invited to have a vaccination to help protect against this illness and we will be delivering this vaccination at Tisbury Surgery initially during September. Each year 30,000 children under 5 are hospitalised as are 9,000 people aged over 75. This vaccination programme will continue throughout the year. Please do come in for this vaccination if you are invited to do so.
We will be offering the flu and covid vaccinations at the surgery. NHS England guidelines dictate that these vaccinations may not be given until October.
MOST INVITATIONS WILL BE SENT VIA TEXT OR EMAIL AND WILL INVITE YOU TO BOOK VIA THE LINK PROVIDED SO PLEASE ENSURE WE HAVE YOUR MOBILE TELEPHONE NUMBER OR EMAIL ADDRESS.

24 Peaks in 24 Hours for Julia’s House
A reminder about the 24 peaks in 24 hours Lake District challenge that Rosie and Jules from the surgery and Viv Worrall are planning to attempt this month to raise much needed funds for Julia’s House Children’s Hospice. Full details are given in the link below – the hospice receives very little Government funding (8%) and relies hugely on donations.
https://www.justgiving.com/team/rosieandvivienne
or google ‘Just Giving’ and search for ‘Rosemary Eacott’, ‘Vivienne Worrall’ or ‘Jules Attlee’. There is also a collecting tin in the surgery.
There are currently 12 families within a 15 mile radius of Tisbury who are being cared for by Julia’s House so this really is a local charity. I would be hugely grateful for any support you can give.
