Tisbury Surgery is working hard to follow N.H.S. England guidance on digital transformation of the N.H.S. In other words, we are trying to improve the online/digital service that we can provide to patients. This should improve access, streamline some care and make it faster.

As we deal with people’s health, these processes also must be safe. Nobody would want anyone to come to harm through something being missed after an issue has been submitted online. This means we have been testing and refining our processes.

Excitingly we are now in a place to release online forms to our patients for most areas of their health. These are all available via our website and you do not need a special login to submit a form. It is well worth checking our website www.tisburysurgery.nhs.uk if your request is simple, as often we can provide a quick response.

For safety reasons if you think you need to see or speak to a doctor the same day, we still ask you to call the surgery. We do not accept forms for children for safety reasons.

To improve safety further, we will slowly be merging outdated ways to contact us, into the online form section of our website. This will make it simpler for patients as there will be one place to go and will also ensure safety.

We currently receive digital submissions via 5 different methods – Emails, airmid, website forms, accuRx contact forms and direct system communications from other hospitals/pharmacies etc. Whilst we check all of these as regularly as possible, clearly having 5 methods of communication could result in something being missed. We have turned off airmid conversations (for which usage was very low), and our forms now replace this system, and the local health authority has not renewed its contract with AccuRx which was commissioned during Covid due to the sudden change in our working practices.

We will therefore have 3 main ways of contacting us which will improve safety, i.e. email, forms via our website and direct communication with the Practice. We hope you find the forms easy to use and we welcome feedback on them and any suggestions that you might like to see added.

Finally, a small plea, the more you tell us on the form, the more likely it is we will be able to help quickly, and, in some cases, this may mean you do not need an appointment.

We wish Dr. Mena Soliman well as he leaves us to continue his training and are pleased to welcome Dr. Obi, who will be with us for six months.

Also – do look out for the covid Spring booster invitations next month!
