The Surgery’s on-line forms, which were previously only available via our website, can now be accessed via the NHS app. They can be used to submit admin enquiries (e.g. request a FIT note) or ask for advice relating to a new, non-urgent clinical issue. Clinical queries will be received by the GP team, and admin enquires directed to the most suitable non-clinical member of our team, making this a quick and efficient way of accessing our services. Whilst we are sure this will appeal to some patients, it in no way excludes contact via more traditional methods!
Salisbury District Hospital is now required to validate waiting lists every 12 weeks. They will therefore be contacting patients direct to confirm that their place on the waiting list is still required. Apparently, they advise that having done this previously for a small number of specialities, they have found that between 5% to 10% of patients no longer require their place on the waiting list and this frees up capacity for other patients.
To achieve this, they will be using their patient contact system DrDoctor, which will send either a text message or email to the patient’s recorded point of contact. This message will include a small number of simple questions so that the patient can confirm their circumstances.
Patients will remain on the waiting list unless they specifically request to be removed. A patient not responding will not result in a change in their position on the waiting list.
The text messages will be sent from 07860 039092 and the emails will be from no-reply@drdoctor.co.uk
Dr. Obi will complete his six month placement at Tisbury Surgery at the end of July and we wish him well with his further training.
