COVID AND FLU VACCINATIONS

Once again the season is approaching for these two vaccinations. Please note that under NHS England guidelines they CANNOT be given to patients before 01.10.25 (with the exception of the flu vaccinations for pregnant women who are eligible from 01.09.25).

Unfortunately the eligibility for flu and covid vaccinations is different this year – please see summary below, from which you will see one of the main differences is that patients over 65 are eligible for a flu vaccination, but NOT automatically a covid vaccination until over 75.

FLU ELIGIBILITY

· Over 65’s

· 6 months to 64 years immunosuppressed

· Clinically at risk

· Older adult care home residents

· Non older adult care home residents

· Frontline health and social care workers

· Pregnant women

COVID ELIGIBILITY

· Over 75’s

· 6 months to 74 years immunosuppressed

· Older adult care home residents

Our main flu and covid clinic will be held at the Surgery on Saturday 11th October. Please look out for the text inviting you to attend. We will be holding additional clinics if you cannot attend that day.

Please bear in mind that by having your vaccinations at the surgery, we can assess whether you need any other vaccinations at that time, and we can also ensure your medical record is updated accurately.

STAFF

A reminder that we are delighted to welcome Dr. Mark McNair to Tisbury Surgery. As a rule, Mark will be working on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

EXTENDED HOURS

As well as being open from 0800-1830 each weekday, we now offer early morning blood tests, nurse practitioner and G.P. appointments from 0730 on Thursdays as well as appointments with an H.C.A, nurse practitioner and G.P on Tuesday evenings until 1915. Hopefully these appointments will be of particular use to our working population.
